Another Beautiful 9-Day Sri Lanka Tour Completed with Two Italian Travelers 🇮🇹💛
We are delighted to share another wonderful travel experience recently completed with two lovely travelers from Italy who explored Sri Lanka with Pick Up Taxi Sri Lanka.
Their 9-day Sri Lanka journey took them through ancient cities, cultural landmarks, wildlife parks, misty hill country, scenic mountain areas and finally to the beautiful southern coast. From the first airport pickup to their final drop-off in Ahangama, we were happy to be part of their Sri Lankan adventure. 🇱🇰❤️
A 9-Day Journey Across Sri Lanka
During their trip, they visited some of Sri Lanka’s most fascinating destinations and enjoyed a combination of culture, history, wildlife, nature and scenic landscapes.
📍 Airport Pickup
Their journey began with a comfortable airport pickup from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). Our goal was to make the beginning of their holiday easy and stress-free, with a friendly welcome and reliable private transportation.
🪨 Sigiriya and Minneriya Safari
They continued towards Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous destinations, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and rich history.
The journey also included a Minneriya National Park safari, where they had the opportunity to experience Sri Lanka’s incredible wildlife and natural environment. Seeing elephants in their natural surroundings is one of the memorable experiences many visitors look forward to when travelling around Sri Lanka. 🐘🌿
🏛️ Polonnaruwa Ancient City
Their journey through Sri Lanka’s history continued with a visit to Polonnaruwa, one of the country’s ancient capitals.
The ancient ruins, temples, statues and archaeological sites offered them an opportunity to discover an important part of Sri Lanka’s fascinating history and cultural heritage.
🏛️ Anuradhapura Ancient City
They also explored Anuradhapura, another remarkable ancient capital of Sri Lanka.
With its historic temples, ancient monuments and sacred sites, Anuradhapura provides a completely different experience and gives travelers a deeper understanding of Sri Lanka’s Buddhist and cultural heritage.
🛕 Dambulla Cave Temple
Another highlight of their journey was Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the country’s most important cultural attractions.
The impressive cave temples, Buddha statues and traditional paintings make Dambulla a must-visit destination for travelers interested in Sri Lankan culture and history.
🏯 Kandy
From the cultural triangle, their journey continued to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka.
Kandy is surrounded by green mountains and is famous for its cultural heritage, beautiful scenery and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
🌿 Nuwara Eliya
From Kandy, they travelled into the cool and beautiful hill country towards Nuwara Eliya.
Known for its tea plantations, green mountains, waterfalls and cool climate, Nuwara Eliya provided a refreshing change from the warmer areas of the island.
⛰️ Ella
Their Sri Lankan adventure then continued to Ella, one of the most popular destinations in the hill country.
With its dramatic mountain scenery, tea plantations and relaxed atmosphere, Ella is a favourite destination for travelers looking to enjoy Sri Lanka’s natural beauty.
🛕 Buduruwagala Temple
They also visited Buduruwagala, a fascinating ancient Buddhist site surrounded by a peaceful natural environment.
The impressive rock-carved Buddha statues and quiet surroundings made this another special cultural stop during their journey.
🐘 Udawalawe
The journey continued towards Udawalawe, another famous wildlife destination in Sri Lanka.
The area is well known for its elephants and beautiful natural landscapes, giving them another opportunity to experience Sri Lanka’s wildlife and countryside.
🌊 Final Stop – Ahangama
After travelling through the cultural heartland, mountains and wildlife areas of Sri Lanka, their journey finally reached Ahangama on the southern coast.
It was a beautiful way to finish their 9-day journey, moving from ancient kingdoms and cultural sites to wildlife, mountains and the tropical southern coastline.
